The Woman Behind The Mask

Summertime, and the living’s easy.
Well, mostly.
While I was at the beach this weekend, I saw that many, many now-tanned women were still wearing their winter foundation; they looked like they were wearing white Cirque du Soleil masks.
(Yes, where I live in the OC, people wear full makeup to the beach.)
Each time you’ve been in the sun, be sure to do a neck check afterward, when applying your makeup.
The foundation on your face should blend seamlessly into the color of your neck.
Always try to put it on in natural light; many artificial lighting situations won’t accurately show you how well you’re blended.
Brands like Revlon (among many) now offer
custom-blend foundation options that have a lighter and a darker color in the same bottle.
The top of the bottle has a switch that goes to any of five positions, letting you choose just the darker color; mostly dark; half dark and half light; mostly light; and all light.
The option’s perfect for women who are frequently changing face color due to outdoor exposure.
