How often do I have to use my SmoothSkin Pure Mini?

To get the most out of your SmoothSkin Pure Mini, we recommend using the device once a week for 12 weeks continuously. After your initial treatment regime, you can drop down to maintenance treatments, typically once every 2-4 weeks.

What results can I expect from SmoothSkin Pure Mini?

In the first few weeks of treatment, you will still see some hairs growing, this is totally normal. From around 4 weeks, you should be seeing a reduction in hair regrowth. There will still be some hairs that need treating but hairs will grow back fewer and softer. From 8 weeks, hair regrowth slows down significantly and after 12 weeks, you can achieve up to 93% hair reduction.

How does the skin tone sensor work?

Our unique Smart Skin sensor automatically delivers safe optimal treatments tailored to your skin tone. When the Skin Tone Sensors are placed on the treatment area the blue light emitted by the Sensors is reflected back from your skin. The device then not only detects your skin is appropriate for treatment but also tailors the energy delivered to your unique skin tone, to maximise your results safely.

How long does the SmoothSkin Pure Mini device last?

SmoothSkin Pure Mini features unlimited flashes so you will never run out.

I can’t get my SmoothSkin Pure Mini device to work?

Make sure the power supply is plugged in. Ensure the Skin Tone Sensor is fully pressed against the skin. SmoothSkin Pure Mini will not activate if it detects an unsafe skin tone. Check against the skin tone chart in the front of your user guide. If you cannot get it to work, please contact us. 

The front part of my SmoothSkin Pure Mini device has black marks on it, what should I do?

This is caused by residual hairs, stubble or debris on the surface of the skin and won’t affect the device’s performance in any way, it’s purely cosmetic.

Make sure you always shave and clean the body area you wish to treat immediately prior to treatments.

The power bar lights on the handset don’t light up when placed against my skin?

Make sure the power supply is plugged in. Ensure the skin tone sensor is fully pressed against the skin.

The power bar lights on the handset light up when placed on the skin but the handset won’t flash when the activation button is pressed?

There could be a fault with the device. Unplug it and restart. If the issue persists please contact us.

The central power bar light on the handset illuminates red when placed against my skin?

SmoothSkin Pure Mini is fitted with skin contact sensors that check your skin contact before each flash, making sure the device is safe to operate. The sensors must be in full contact with the treatment area for the device to flash. If the device is not in full contact with the treatment area, the device will not flash. Try adjusting the positioning of the device to ensure full contact is achieved, particularly on more awkward areas such as arms and shins.

If the sensor is in full contact with the skin and the power bar is still illuminating red, it is possible your skin contains too much melanin to safely receive IPL treatment. SmoothSkin Pure Mini will not activate unless it detects a safe skin tone to receive IPL treatment. SmoothSkin Pure Mini includes an intelligent Skin Tone Sensor that automatically detects your skin tone and selects the optimal treatment setting.  If the device detects that your skin tone cannot safely receive IPL treatment, it will not flash and the power bar will illuminate red.

The power bar light on the handset are illuminated red continuously. What should I do?

This indicates there is a fault with the device. Stop using the device and contact us.

I can’t get my SmoothSkin Pure MIni device to activate?

There is a bubble, slight blackening or clouding in the lamp – is this normal?

This is perfectly normal, the lamp is quality engineered and has passed the highest standards of quality checks. This does not affect the power output. 

Is there meant to be glass on the treatment window?

No, there should not be any glass against the skin. The glass filter is recessed back into the device.

How should I clean the device?

Carefully wipe with a soft, dry cloth and ensure that the glass filter is undamaged after every use. The head of the device (gold or silver part) can be removed.  Please see your user guide for further guidance. 

Is it normal /ok for there to be a burning smell when in use?

The smell of burning when in use can indicate that the treatment area hasn’t been properly prepared for treatment. Skin must be completely hair-free/shaved, cleaned and dried. If hair is not completely removed it may damage the front of the device. IPL technology uses heat to deliver hair removal results. If any visible hair remains above the surface of the skin, it can burn on treatment with your SmoothSkin device. If you are concerned STOP treatment and contact us.

 

My SmoothSkin Pure Mini slows down as I use it. Should I be worried?

Not at all. SmoothSkin Pure Mini is fitted with a powerful fan to cool down the electric components, and sometimes the device may need to slow down slightly to allow the fan to do its job effectively.   

 

How do I switch between comfort modes?

Power Mode is the default setting when your device is switched on. You can turn on Gentle mode by pressing the feather button underneath the main Activation Button.

You can also use your SmoothSkin Pure Mini device in stamp mode to treat smaller areas or in glide mode to treat larger areas fast. Stamp mode is activated by pressing the SS button once. Glide mode is activated by keeping the SS button firmly pressed whilst you glide over the treatment area. Your device will flash continuously for an ultra-fast and smooth treatment.

 

What is each comfort mode for?

Power mode is the default mode when the device is switched on. It’s the most powerful mode, for quick and efficient treatments.

Gentle Mode is ideal to use on more sensitive areas. Operating the device in Gentle Mode will reduce the power output, and you will notice less Power Bar indicators illuminated when applied to your skin.

Why use the precision head attachment?

SmoothSkin Pure Mini comes with a detachable precision head that is perfect for smaller, tricky areas (such as upper lip, shins, fingers, and toes).  

How do I add/remove the precision head?

The precision head simply attaches on to the front of your device via an internal magnet inside the front of the main device. This magnet holds the head in place whilst you treat the area. Simply unclip or re-attach depending on which area you’re treating.

How do I clean the precision head?
